  • Targeted Opportunity Program - TOPJobs

PLEASE NOTE:  The TopJobs Summer 2010 Internship Program is now accepting applications.  Please click here for the Application form and information.

The Targeted Opportunity Program (TOPjobs) assists state agencies and universities in promoting equal employment opportunity by providing them with a pool of candidates who are racial/ethnic minorities, females, and persons with disabilities. The program provides students with practical, on-the-job experience, training, and exposure to the Wisconsin Civil Service System. Many of the interns have succeeded in obtaining employment in state government as limited term or permanent state employees.

To participate in the Targeted Opportunity Program, students, at the beginning of the next school year, must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students at an accredited four-year college or university, or enrolled in the second year of a two year technical or vocational school program. Since the inception of the program in 1974, 2,527 students have been placed in more than 30 different state agencies and university campuses throughout the State.
