Coping with Change in the Workplace

The following materials are provided for the benefit of employees who are affected directly or indirectly by a broad range of changes in the workplace:  e.g., agency layoffs, at-risk notifications, program reductions, reorganizations, etc. The materials relate to coping with change, skills assessment, resume writing, and job search activities and continuing benefits.

Please consult your Human Resources office with procedural questions about the layoff process, at-risk designations, collective bargaining issues, mandatory restoration and applying for alternate job opportunities within your agency or state government.

Any content about specific benefits, rights and human resources policies is for general informational purposes only. Policies may change or be governed by specific provisions of collective bargaining agreements. Please consult with your Human Resources office, payroll personnel or other appropriate authority (e.g. Department of Employee Trust Funds) for the latest information.

Each state agency has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that may also help. For a description of EAP, go to http://oser.state.wi.us/section_detail.asp?linkcatid=332
